Why You Should Write an eBook

Marketing your business with an eBook is a great way to prove your knowledge and develop some credibility within your niche. The act of publishing an eBook sets you up with expert status almost automatically. Of course, the eBook needs to be good too, but the idea is that the eBook is not the main product. It is just a way to market the main product which is you, or your business.

Sell It Inexpensively Kindle

You can give it away by signing the eBook up exclusively on Kindle, and then allow it to be given away. Alternatively you can sell it for $2.99 or even more. It's up to you. If the eBook is good, and you want to make money off it, it doesn't exclude you from using the eBook as a marketing tool. This only works if you also include links and information about your website and other information inside the book.

Collect Leads by Giving It Away

You can also give it away as lead bait or incentive to your customer to sign up for your email list. Still include links in your eBook because your audience will want to buy what you suggest, and come back to your website if they know where it is.

Publicity through Authorship

Just becoming a published author carries some clout. And, don't let anyone tell you that self-publishing is "less than" any other type of publishing. Self-publishing is actually more lucrative today than finding a publisher unless you are already famous and want to outsource some aspects. Publishers will not do much to help someone who is not already known. Therefore you may as well self-publish and use the proof of your knowledge (your eBook) to market your business.

Viral Marketing Campaigns

An eBook can be a great way to "go viral" if you know how to promote it. Use social media, book trailers, and excerpts of the book to market on social media to get the word out about the eBook and your business at the same time.

Put Links inside Your eBook

This is the most important thing outside of marketing your eBook. Ensure that you include links inside your eBook because this is how the people who buy or download your eBook (or even if they steal it) will give you business from it.

Promote It on Social Media

Don't forget to market your business and eBook on social media using all means available, such as infographics and memes. If you're thinking about writing an eBook you may think it's a pretty simple process. Or you might think researching, writing, formatting, publishing and marketing your eBook is incredibly difficult. The reality of the situation is somewhere in the middle of those two schools of thought. For more info, download my free checklist, How To Write An eBook at https://jonallo.com/ebook

How to Do Marketing With a Low Budget

Marketing your business online inexpensively is a real possibility. You can practically market your business for free if you know what to do.

Content Marketing

This is one of your most important marketing weapons in your arsenal. In fact, you'll use content for all types of marketing including every inexpensive way mentioned below. Content is needed that sells, educates, engages, informs and excites. You need content for all aspects of marketing - up to and including customer relations.

Social Media

Social media like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram all have a place in your online marketing endeavors. Well, they might. You have to determine which social media networks will work for you and it will depend on your niche and your audience. Where do they hang out? Be there.

Blog Often

Blogging is a big source of traffic, and in some instances the only source of traffic for many website owners. It's a great way to get the message out to your audience while not spending much money. It can take time to get used to doing it, but writing a post a day can help gain momentum. But you also want to consider doing longer blog posts, less often, to get results.

Remember SEO

If you are not familiar with SEO (search engine optimization), it's important to learn. SEO changes constantly and is how you optimize your website for search engines. There is both on-page and off-page

SEO that you can do for your business.

Perfect Your Website

Your website is your store front, and even if you have a bricks and mortar store front, your website is the store front your customers will likely see first. If it doesn't look great, why would anyone purchase from you?

Join Relevant Communities

Communities are a great way to get your name out there. There are communities you can join on Facebook and LinkedIn, as well as self-hosted and owned "inner circles" and mastermind clubs that you can join. They can help you get known as an expert, as well as help you get more links to your website.

Get Listed

There are directories that are free or inexpensive that you can join to help market your business. Ensure that the directory is niche oriented, and that it is run by a reputable person so that you are listed with other reputable business owners. You don't want to be on a list that is associated with spam. Your local chamber of commerce is one such list that you can get on for the price of your membership. Every successful entrepreneur has made mistakes in their business at some time or another. It's all part of the learning process. Although mistakes are going to happen, you can avoid a number of common marketing mistakes.

Raise Your Expertise Level Through Podcasting

If you are just setting out as a brand new podcaster or you have been in the game for sometime, it is OK to stop and reassess how and what you can do to become a better podcaster. We sometimes miss the small stuff and neglect our shortcomings rather than seeking to find solutions to make them stronger. More than just trying to hook up a microphone and hitting the record button, being a successful podcaster demands far more. You have to understand your style of speaking, master the art of being a good host, and always place yourself in different situations to test your abilities and help you to constantly learn. Here are some things to do that will improve your level of expertise.

1. Try to Interview Experts in Your Niche

There are over one million podcasters on Apple Podcasts (and more being added each day). One must either get a deeper knowledge base than your targeted competition or a much deeper (and authentic) interest in your podcast so you can stand out, but ideally both. Focus mainly on having the best guests related to your podcast's topic. By having well-known expert guests on your podcast, your audience react positively and when they share your interviews, your stats, will rise steadily. Even if at all possible, try to perform your most important interviews in person. Although in this day and time, Zoom or other online platforms make it extremely easy to do remote interviews, in person interviews will also increase your networking ability. You could possibly create a new contact that will pay dividends later!

2. Share your Interview with the Experts to Gain More followers

This is probably a technique you're familiar with. There's a reason why the interview-style model is

built on so many podcasts. Interviewing someone with an audience brings the material in front of fresh faces. It's one of the most common ways for your subscriber base to expand. The key to working with influencers in your niche is to ensure that they have an audience that is engaged. If somebody has 10,000 followers on Social media that they can connect their interview with, and you see that their posts are gaining 500-1,000 comments on average, this is a very good person to work with. If they have an insanely active audience (5-10 percent), this could indicate an opportunity for you to have a strong conversion rate for your episode. When this expert tells their followers about your interview, some of those followers are to check out your website and your services as well. Some of them could reach out to you, interested in being on your podcast, too! Let's make this clear though... because of their listeners, you're not just interviewing people. You want to add people who make decisions based on the subject matter you are talking about on your show.

4. Provide Quality Interviews and Obtain Quality Results.

Make your interviews something that your guests will be proud of. You must put in the time to do your research on your guest and to prepare for a great interview. This preparation will not only reflect well on your show, but will also inspire your guests to share the episode with their audience. The main advantage you'll gain by rolling out the red carpet for influencers in your niche is to gain access to their audience, who might become your new listeners.

Conclusion:

Increasing audience numbers and subscribers for you will increase your expertise level in the eyes of others who are searching and checking out your programs in your niche. By interviewing other guest experts will also increase your standing as an expert in the minds of your followers. Robert Thibodeau has been in online media since 2010.

How to Make Email Marketing Work

Email marketing is one of the most important and effective forms of marketing to ever be invented. The conversion rate for appropriate email approaches 4 to 7% over time. That's because a new client needs to see a brand 7 to 8 times before they trust it enough to buy something. Email is the perfect way to do that.

Use the Right Software

There are many different types of email marketing software available but you need to read the fine print to be sure that you can do what you want to do with it.

Autoresponder Series

No matter what else you do when it comes to online marketing, when someone gets on your list be sure to send them something no less often than weekly. Less than that and they're going to forget about you, and they might even think you're spamming them because they forgot. Set up triggered emails in the service to go out on a regular basis.

eCourses

A great way to fill up your email marketing autoresponder is with an eCourse that delivers daily or weekly with information and assignments for your audience. This is not only a good way to teach them something but also a good way to suggest other products.

eNewsletter

Some marketers use newsletters to send information to their audience. Newsletters are often larger and also available on a website so a subscriber can view them via email or on the site. A newsletter can go out monthly or more often. Be sure to tell your audience how often they'll get the newsletter so they know what to expect.

Craft Effective Headlines

It's very important that headlines and subject lines be specific, keyword rich, and something the audience will want to open and see. Don't be tricky or too cheeky as people don't click through unless they know what's inside.

Personalise Email

Autoresponder technology allows you to personalize an email based on the information you've gathered from your audience. You can collect first name and email, and then you can send your email to, "Dear Sally," instead of no one.

Don't Forget the Call To Action

When you send emails to anyone for any reason, you should include a call to action. It might be to share the newsletter with others, to like you on social media, to try out software you recommend or something else entirely.

You simply can't have a good online marketing plan if you don't include email marketing. In fact, everything else you do should all lead back to building your email list. A targeted email list will enable you to give yourself a raise whenever you want one.

Email marketing can achieve awesome results for the smart marketer. But you still need to get your email subscribers to buy. On average, a prospect needs to see your messages 7 to 8 times before they trust you enough to buy something. Email is the perfect way to deliver these messages with a structured marketing funnel. The Popularity of Podcasting

What is Podcasting?

The process of using the internet to make public broadcasting recordings accessible on a computer or mobile device for download is known as Podcasting

A podcast is a serialized set of digital audio clips with spoken terms that a user can access on a work device for easy listening. An easy and efficient way for many podcast outlets to manage personal consumption database and playback is supported by streaming apps and podcasting networks.

The podcast medium has become popular 15 years after Apple first offered 3,000+ songs on iTunes. Millions of Americans are reportedly subscribing to podcasts every week, up from 19 million in 2013. The range of possibilities podcast listeners have today is one reason for the rise. With over 54 million podcast episodes widely accessible worldwide, there are now over 1,000,000 successful podcasts. Due to the low-cost of entry, a record 192,000 new podcasts were released in the first ten months of 2020. A variety of major media firms have recently entered the industry in recognition of the success of podcasting. Joe Rogan just signed a huge, mult-million dollar deal all because of his podcast!

The Growth of Podcasting in the Last Five Years

For the past five years, I have attended the Podcast Movement Conference, the biggest annual podcasting event, and have seen the conference expand along with the industry, reaching 5,000 participants in 2020. With the shutdown and virtual podcasting events being held, I believe the podcast industry is going to grow exponentially this year!

Podcasts are simply a compilation of audio files being made available digitally for other people to listen to at their convenience. Most podcasts are set up like a TV or radio program, with numerous "seasons" and episodes with special guests concentrating on various topics. Listeners can subscribe to particular podcasts, download and listen to new episodes whenever it is convenient for them.

While podcasts have been in use for almost 20 years, think back to 2004 when the iPod minis of Apple were all the fashion, and the iTunes Music Store had just gone global. There has been a rise in listening in the last few years that has gained a lot

of attention from business owners, celebrities, advertisers, and customers alike.

Why People Are Listening to Podcast More Than Eve Before

Let's take a closer look at six reasons why people listening to podcasts continues to increase:

1. It doesn't take much to get started.

One of the things that makes podcasts so compelling for companies, especially companies with smaller or limited budgets, is the affordability to get started. These companies do not require a large investment for their podcast. For the individual, the same thing applies. You can probably use equipment you already have (computer, computer camera and microphone) to get started! For your first few episodes, something as easy as recording on a smartphone or tablet would work just fine.

You do not need to type down anything you want to say, because podcasts are also very conversational. To help you remain on track, you can create an outline ahead of time, but much of the discussion will be nicely unscripted. This is especially true if you have a co-host or are conducting interviews.

2. Podcasts are also perfect for storytelling

As a small business owner, your stories are what will help you to attract people to listen to your podcast and get them involved in your business. Your podcast can encourage them to choose your company over the competition. Hopefully, you're always searching for ways to share amazing stories, generate interest, send people to your website, or forum, engage on social media, and sign up to receive newsletters and email notifications about your business or services.

Podcasts allow you to leverage more communication power as an audio-based medium than written words alone. Instead of reading the words and understanding them (or misinterpreting them) on their own, your listeners will be hearing your stories straight from the source. You tone of voice, your excitement, your seriousness - all of it - comes through the audio they hear!

3. Podcast are extremely convenient to absorb.

Podcasts offer listeners the gift of multitasking rather than blog posts or videos, which demand someone's full attention.

This is why, through their smartphones, laptops, or other mobile devices, most people who listen to podcasts listeners will do so while doing other things. As they are getting ready for work in the morning, on their commute to work, or preparing dinner, they are able to listen to podcasts.

Video, on the other hand, requires people to concentrate on the video and not on other things. This is one of the major advantages of podcasting!

Podcast listeners can easily integrate listening time into their everyday schedules, which is why statistics reveal six or more podcasts a week are consumed by one in five weekly podcast users.

The Future of Podcast Is Looking Bright

I am excited to see where podcasting will go next. Personally, as a podcaster, I really am encouraged by what I'm seeing right now. As Apple continues to invest heavily in podcasting, I think there will be many more big names in entering the podcasting sphere of influence. Despite the big names entering this market, you and I also have an equal opportunity to create our own programming and see it grow into something huge as well.
